Hemsedal, NorwaySituated in the heart of Norway Hemsedal is said to this Scandinavian country's most popular ski destination. The town lies in central southern Norway between Oslo and Bergen, nestling in the beautiful Hallingdal valley. Boasting some of the highest and most consistent snowfall levels in Europe Hemsedal has established itself as the premier ski and snowboard destinations in Norway. Hemsedal Ski Centre offers slopes and activities for all levels with a first class ski school (English speaking of course) and nursery slopes, a choice of more challenging blue and red slopes for intermediate skiers, and unrivalled off piste areas which will delight the most experienced skiers and snowboarders.  Hemsedal. There are plenty of activities other than skiing or snowboarding. Ice Climbing, dog sledding, snowmobiling can all be found in the area or you can relax Après Ski in the numerous bars, cafes and restaurants. Being close to town you will find all the facilities you expect of a major ski resort with ski rental, on-resort children's creche and fully catered private cabins all close to hand. There is a post office, four supermarkets and a bank in town. Hemsedal has a large ski area for children and beginners with easy to handle lifts and conveyors giving access to gentle slopes. Lynxland is a winter play park for the smallest children and free to enter while Foxnest offers tuition and fun and children and youths up to 15 years. Transfer times from Oslo Gardermoen Airport is about 3.5 hours. A transfer bus runs directly to Hemsedal Fridays and Sundays during the winter or by Norway Bus Express from with Bergen or Oslo centres.
